Day 11:
They call McDonald's "Macca's" here for some reason. They like to shorten words, I've noticed. They call Woolworth's "woolies" and breakfast "brekky". It is exciting. And weird. Peaches are $5 apiece so I am considering sending out a few hundred more support letters to support my habit. Just kidding. I am very thankful for all of your wonderful donations and would never consider using them to buy addicting, delicious fruit. My ankle is still really swollen from when I twisted it last week, so you can keep that in your prayers. Our second week of school starts tomorrow and we will be studying about hearing God's voice. It is an appropriate subject because we need to pick our overseas outreach countries this week so you can be praying that I hear God's voice very clearly!!
Even though everyone speaks english, it is still VERY hard to understand them. Every country seems to say vowel differently so that make normal words sound...abnormal. I am really looking forward to the next 10 weeks of lectures, and I cannot BELIEVE that I have been here for 11 days already. Well that could be because I never know what time it is!! No phone. or watch. It is a pathetic existence. Just kidding. Tomorrow night is a designated "homework Night" and rumours are floating around that they will lock in a darkened room for 6 hours with no food or water until we complete our homework. I'm scared.
Well, I better go for now, thank you for reading this thing!
Bree
You hurt your ankle?!? This is the things you tell people so they can pray! Goodness, I spread the word every time I'm moderately-severely sick (which, as we all know, happens at a great frequency). Oh, yeah... I'm sick. All the symptoms point to something different. Maybe my body's just on strike... Again.
ReplyDelete$5?!?!?! Do not even LOOK at them!
