If I were mugged right now, I could not scream. I could punch the mugger in the face and seriously mess up his nose, but I have no means of alerting attention to my crisis. Currently, I communicate with my roomates via a handy app that converts text to speech. The voice is female, thankfully, but also british, and it scares me every time she talks. Although, it does make me sound a bit more posh and rich, in my opinion. I sound like Audrey Hepburn in "A Roman Holiday".
Yesterday, I went to the Koala Sanctuary. I went with two girls from Switzerland. The trip started out wonderfully as I forgot my wallet and had to run all the way back to base. On my twisted ankle. The bus ride was pretty uneventful. And confusing. Seeing as how I couldn't talk and how they communicated with each other in swiss German. And I don't speak Swiss German, in case you all were wondering....
The Koala sanctuary was wonderful! I got to snuggle with kangaroos and pet koalas and see dingos and watch a poor sheep get balded. I had a favorite kangaroo. His name was not Joey. That is so cliche. His name was Bob. He was greyish which may mean that he was a Wallaby but I am not certain because no one explained the difference to me. I probably google that....
I petted a Koala!! Yeah! I don't know his name. But he was pretty cute. Koalas are so chill. They just hang out in their trees all day and barely move or anything. Some tourist told me that it was because that the eucalyptus tree is like a drug and all of the koalas are wasted. I later found out that they are all dopey because the leaves have a low sugar and starch percentage. Nice, Mr. Tourist....
So on the way home, we rode a train, which was fun. I hadn't been on one down here yet so that was cool. I also felt pretty cool riding the bus because I am a person with a car and I have never rode a bus. Except in Europe. But that doesn't count.
Currently, I think that there is a small man with a drum living in my head. Or a bowling alley. PLUS there is a clog in my throat which is constricting my breathing. And talking. My ankle is wrapped. And hurting. Oh, and my ears plug and unplug periodically. that also made it harder to communicate with my swiss german friends....But I am not complaining!! Just giving you guys a heads up as to what is going on in my life. yep.
So how are things back home?? No one ever tells me anything!! SO feel free to write me on facebook or email or whatever because, remember, I am just a isolated homeschooler who has never been away from her family before!!Oh, stereotypes....
So yeah. Write me a letter or something. When ever someone gets mail here, everyone cheers. Especially if its candy.
Well I better go. I have to go to the store and the kangaroo is hopping slowly today...
Yeah. I never tell you ANYTHING. Riiiiight.
ReplyDeleteHow dare you not post this? You know, I only write to you about times four the amount of words you give me. I could quadruple this, now! Give to receive, dear foreign animal petter.
